The 3 Principles/Health
Realisation
The 3 Principles of Mind,
Consciousness and Thought originally
known as Health Realisation were
articulated first in the 1970’s by a
very ordinary man called Sydney
Banks living in Canada.
He had insights into how all of
life works which allowed him to have
a dramatic impact on people’s lives.
Over the years more and more people
took him seriously, and when the
first Psychiatrists and
Psychologists met him they instantly
changed their own approach to
helping their own clients.
They went back to their own
practices and Universities and
started to teach and help their
clients and students with a whole
new way of thinking. A new
Psychology, built, for the first
time, on Fundamental Scientific
Principles, that will not change
over time.
Since then this teaching has
transformed thousands of people’s
lives, from employees in Fortune 500
companies to inmates in the US jail
system. In two of the most crime
ridden housing estates in Florida,
crime figures went to zero over a
three year period in the 1980’s as
residents rediscovered their own
Innate Health and Wellbeing through
these fundamental Principles.
This teaching is being brought to
the school and University system in
the United States.
3 Principles of
Mind, Consciousness and Thought
- The first Principle is
Thought - our life is
just a series of Thoughts,
one after the other, created
by ourselves.
Thought happens first, we
make it up, it gives us a
corresponding feeling and we
act on it, as if it’s real,
it looks real to us, but
it’s not, it’s just a
thought.
- The second principle is
that of Consciousness.
Thoughts are bubbling up all
the time, the Principle of
Consciousness brings
awareness of a Thought to
the senses so that we have a
human experience of it.
- The third Principle is
that of Mind - the
energy behind everything. It
is everything that we can’t
see, the formless
intelligence that provides
us with ongoing wisdom.
In essence these 3 Principles of
Mind, Consciousness and Thought are
happening behind the scene, whether
we know it or not. They are not
concepts or opinions, but are facts
of how life works the same way for
all of us, which has now been proved
scientifically.
Here’s the thing – peace of mind
is pretty much the primary goal for
a lot of us. What we don’t
understand is that peace of mind is
our default setting. All we need to
do is get out of our own way and let
it happen.
Like a snow globe, when you stop
shaking it, it settles down and
automatically becomes clear. It is
this clarity that can give us calmer
and more fulfilling lives.
You cannot have a feeling without
first having a thought. Our feelings
are caused 100% by our thoughts.
Thoughts come first, our thinking
leads to our feelings and emotions.
Every thought has a corresponding
feeling attached. Two sides of the
same coin.
Many people mistakenly believe
that our feelings and emotions are
caused by people or events and
circumstances that happen around us.
This leads to the false perception
that things are outside our control.
Nothing could be further from the
truth. Life always happens from the
inside out. Our thoughts, feelings
and ultimate behaviours are not
controlled by external factors but
how we interpret and perceive them,
by our thoughts.
The three Principles provide us
with an understanding that allows
more constructive thoughts,
interpretations and perceptions to
arise which leads to less stress and
more positive feelings.
